TSAT Focus - The essential role of Governance
Good governance is essential to the success of TSAT, ensuring that we achieve our mission of 'realising the life chances and dreams of every child'
Volunteering for a governance role is a highly rewarding. School governance volunteers are the largest volunteer force in the country and schools would be very different without their input.
This academic year we have continued to focus on strengthening our governance, particularly at local level. Our Local Governing Boards provide vital local context and links with our communities and are a fundamental part of our governance structure.
We are pleased to have welcomed a number of new governors across our schools, and we thank all involved for their passion and skills. But we still need more volunteers to help us on our journey.
Volunteering with TSAT gives an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children. Children joining our Trust have a broad range of abilities and social backgrounds and it is the core purpose of our governance colleagues to ensure that the voices of all children are heard and used to shape our strategic vision.
To ensure that our governors have the right tools to succeed in this task we offer induction, training and ongoing support and networking opportunities.
